AWS

Want to get a handle on your HPC costs on AWS and need a guide that doesn’t need an AWS qualification to understand? Take a read of this by Alex:

The frugal HPC architect – ensuring effective FinOps for HPC workloads at scale | Amazon Web Services
Running High Performance Computing workloads in AWS offers immense scale and flexibility, but many on-premises approaches to cost management don’t apply in the cloud. In this post we explore the key levers to reducing unit costs, understanding consumption, and how efficiency and effectiveness are key measures of success.

There’s also a c4d in preview using the latest AMD EPYC CPUs. Sign up here to get access

C4D Preview Sign-up Form
The purpose of Preview is to provide customers early access to GCE’s latest General Purpose C4D machine family for testing and providing feedback prior to GA. Preview capacity is available in us-central1, us-east4, us-east1, europe-west4 and asia-southeast1 regions and requires the customer’s projects to be allowlisted. For more details, access the user guide here. Through the preview period, we expect to work with preview customers and gather feedback on product performance. We are also looking for participation from our customers and partners to support our launch communications (e.g., providing a quote, permissions to use their logo etc.) - please reach out if interested. This form is to indicate that your customer is interested in participating in C4D Private Preview. We will contact you directly once you submit a response with more details. Disclaimers: Pre-GA offerings are not covered under the GCE Service Level Agreement. Customers should only use Preview for testing non-production workloads. There will be a higher frequency of disruptive VM live migrations. Customers should expect some volatility in performance and reliability during Preview. Pre-GA offerings: (1) are intended for use in test environments only and should not be used in a production environment or to process personal data or other data subject to legal or regulatory compliance requirements, and (2) are subject to the Pre-GA Offerings Terms of the Service Specific Terms.
