HPC Cloud Updates WE 22 Jun 2025
Updates to AWS, Azure & GCP in the last week relevant for HPC practitioners. New AMD Turin VM from Google, Lots of VM instances available in new places on AWS and Cycle Cloud plays with NeMo.

AWS
A small but potentially handy optimization to the way EC2 auto scaling works, now removing the instance details in the response (if requested) to reduce the response size

Savings plans now available for p5 and p5en types

Google Cloud
New c4d VM family powered by 5th gen AMD Turin CPUs is GA. We’ve been benchmarking the top of stack Turin CPU recently, so I guess its only fair we see how the Google VM offerings compare. Keep an eye out for this.
