HPC Club Call for Questions: Schedulers

Got a great question about the future of HPC schedulers you want answered by a panel of vendors that make them? Here’s your chance.

HPC Club Call for Questions: Schedulers

Want an answer to your question on the future of schedulers, at the next HPC Club?

It’s a Thursday evening after work. You’re at a café/bar and there sat in front of you are people from several of the leading HPC scheduler companies. They’re all there to talk about the future of HPC schedulers. What does the cornerstone of HPC itself look like in 2 to 5 years’ time.

But you’ve had a long day. Production was broken. Your mind is elsewhere. Your mouth is too full of the rather excellent mini burgers being served. A rare opportunity squandered.

Fear not great HPC warrior. Just tell me those questions now! 😁

I’ll concede it will give those answering the questions some time to swot up on a good answer, but is that necessarily a bad thing?

The opportunity to shape the future of what HPC looks like starts here.

Seriously though, it would be helpful for us and for the panellists that have agreed to take part in the next HPC club if we can have at least some questions before hand. Just so we’re well prepared to have an interesting discussion.

I will kick off proceedings with some of my own thoughts on the history and my desires for the future of HPC schedulers but then turn it over to our eminent HPC scheduler experts and yourselves to dig deeper. Any thoughts or questions you can share ahead of time (here or via email/ DM) would be great.
