Quantum #33
Issue #33 of the weekly HPC newsletter by HMx Labs.
We’ve been busy this week getting the first meet (and website) for HPC CLUB off the ground. If somehow this has passed you by, mark your calendars. 27th November in Canary Wharf. More details below.
I’m also exploring a couple of new ideas on how to make our expertise available more widely.
I’ve always been, and will continue to be, happy to meet up for a quick call or a coffee and talk about anything HPC. Trouble is, it can be a bit limiting. A lack of NDAs, limitations in time and what data we can provide both make it less than ideal if all you need is some advice but don’t want to buy months of consultancy.
I’m thinking some kind of mashup between a retainer and fractional expert model which gets access to our time, benchmarking data and tooling for say six months to a year but without having to pay for an engineer full time.
What do you think? Solving a real problem here or just creating an intractable headache for myself with your procurement department? 😕
In The News
Updates and news from the big three clouds on all things HPC.
We have a bit on the x86 Ecosystem Alliance below, but the two CPU manufacturers are head to head in this comparison
Not strictly speaking HPC but if, like us you use some LLMs then this is useful read that will hopefully just be confirming what you already know but worth bearing in mind if you didn’t.
