What’s Inside a Supercomputer?
About 3 months late but Chapter 2 of an Introduction to Supercomputing is finally available!
I started writing a book. An Introduction to Supercomputing and HPC. A while back I published Chapter 1. 4 months ago. You’d be forgiven for thinking I’d given up on the endeavour.
I haven’t. I haven’t exactly met my original target of trying to produce one chapter a month. Or my original reason for writing it, to help train up new hires at HMx Labs. I think they’ve probably given up on me and found another book with the speed I’m progressing at…. BUT…
Chapter 2 is so much better than I intended. Mostly because I had this hair brained idea to try and engage guest authors who, unlike me, actually know what they’re talking about. And much to my surprise the manufacturer of the CPUs in the top two fastest supercomputers (as defined by the July edition of the Top 500) decided to contribute!
Much like chapter 1 you need to sign up… a vain attempt on my part for it to not end up as AI training fodder, but its free and you don’t even have to opt in to get any future emails.
I guess I better get working on Chapter 3… and the question on my mind is.. who wants to contribute?
