Hiring: Enterprise Data Software Engineer
We’re looking for a talented engineer to join our team and help build out our enterprise data management function. Want to come work at HMx Labs?

We’re hiring! Want to join team HMx?
Earlier this year when I was looking to hire, I belittled the GenAI boosters that, despite the hype, I still needed to hire a human even for a so called “junior” role. Guess what almost six months later, for all the talk of AI tooling improving daily and Devin and Claude still can’t do the job!
So, we’re hiring again. You’ll be working directly with Kamran Saleem on the data management side of HMx Labs. Apologies our web site it pretty out of data on that front and we don’t have a lot of detail about what we do in that space on there yet. You’ll be working on an open source project under the FINOS foundation and aligned to a high profile financial services client.
This is a hybrid position and will require you to be able to be in an office in London.
Much like last time, I’m just going to call out the broken hiring processes in the world right now. And like last time, I’m going to try and make you the same offer.
We won’t use AI or CV parsing and keyword tools to sift through the applications if applicants only bother to apply if they meet the criteria below and ensure their CV and/or LinkedIn profiles actually showcase their skills in these areas
Anyone applying with a recommendation from someone that has worked with HMx Labs goes to the top of the pile.
What are we looking for:
- You must have the right to live and work indefinitely in the UK
- At least two years of commercial software development experience
- Be proficient in Java
- Have some exposure to front end tech stacks, Svelte would be ideal
- Be comfortable communicating directly with clients
- Be interested in data management and classification, especially in an enterprise data context.
Let’s see how this goes. Applications on the LinkedIn job posting or by email to [email protected]
If we get inundated with applicants that clearly don’t match any of the criteria above we reserve the right to break out the AI (or maybe just bash and grep) 😁
Up to £65k/year for the right candidate.
