Want to Read a Book about Supercomputers?

I know I’ve alluded to the fact that I might write a book on HPC a few times, but I think I needed to stop myself tinkering with it and do something to either encourage progress or kill the idea if it sucks.

So, I’ve put out the first chapter.

It’s not your usual non fiction reference book. I wanted it to be fun to read and draw more (younger) people into the field. As such I’m attempting to write it from a different angle to most of my writing which generally assumes a good grasp of HPC.

I want to make it widely available, but I also don’t want it to become AI training fodder. For now, this means that I’ve made it available on our blog but restricted access to “subscribers”. Subscribing is free and just requires an email address. I’m guess it will end up in a training set soon enough either way…

Chapter 1: The Limits of One
An introduction to supercomputing and high performance computing broken down into a series of posts, perhaps eventually compiled into a book in the future depending on how well this little experiment goes. This first chapter attempts to define what a supercomputer or HPC is.

Your feedback is welcome, and I while I do have chapters two to ten sketched out already they all need a lot more work.
